The exchange of monies for tuition between the athletic department and the

the CPA's account for it on the school's books - that is, who gets credit
for the "revenue" from ticket sales after deducting "expenses", it "costs"
the school nothing from an academic standpoint - the buildings are there,
the teachers are there, etc., etc., whether Souley sits in them or not.
Without the basketball scholarship he's NOT there, and no one can tell me
that UC saves a nickel on the academic side from his absence, aside possibly
from some tutoring expense.

Well thats a good read and if you are talking about just one student athlete
it sounds good. The only problem is UC has over two thousand ( I dont know
the exact number) student athletes and there is no way you can filter that
many students into classes without some kind of expense. I dont know about UC
but some schools have classes for athletes only. For example did you see how
many basketball players at UC have criminal justice for a major. Add in the
football players and other sports and you would have to have extra classes just
for that major alone. I may not have convinced you but Im convinced UC has
academic expense for student athletes. Its just common sense. Don
