Drew Lavender and Brandon Foust suspended

Criminal charges will not be pressed against a
University of Oklahoma basketball player arrested in
Anchorage, Alaska, over the weekend for using a fake
identification to get into a bar, prosecutors said
Thursday.

It was a first offense for Lawrence McKenzie, 19, a
sophomore from Minneapolis, and charges are not
typical in such situations, said Dan Shorey, assistant
district attorney.

"Any administrative penalties a student may receive
are likely greater than what the court would do on a
first offense," Shorey said. "In this case, he's got
his coach to deal with, and I remember what coaches
are like."

Sophomores Drew Lavender and Brandon Foust, who played
high school basketball together in Columbus, Ohio,
were suspended for curfew violations, according to The
Oklahoman.

Lavender, 20, and Foust, 21, were not arrested.
McKenzie was also suspended.

All three players sat out Wednesday when the Sooners
beat Coppin State 67-44.
