I concur, Jihad has the same fire Bobbit had last year with more ball control and leadership ability. He is just a little out of control at times, but with Moore to spell him it should be a great combo. Cant wait to see the cats play Wake and Illi. Should be an interesting year.
I agree that the Illini our tough, maybe the best in the nation right now, but I think the team that people our sleeping on is the Cuse. With Edelin back and the play they have recieved from Hakim, Mcnamara and Pace, you might see a battle for who gets to where there orange uniforms in the finals.
Did anyone see the stats that Downey is putting up!!! Wow.
Has Keenan Ellis committed anywhere yet, or could we sneak over to NCH and steal a big man?

Hello again, Bearcatnews forum...after a move from Chicago due
south to
Indianapolis, I've finally have set up my email service to get
back in touch
with UC hoops.
A few thoughts so far:
I was at Conseco Fieldhouse last saturday for both Wooden Classic
games. As
much as I hate to say it, because I BOLDLY, went on record last
season and
predicted that UC would soundly beat Illinois in the tourney, this
years
Illini squad will be a final four contender.
Watching them in person dismantle a taller Gonzaga team gave me
deja vu to
our spanking by them last year. Trust me, they were very
impressive and
watching them take apart a veteran Wake squad last night further
solidifies
my claim.
With that said, DEC 31, 2004 will be the biggest test of what this
years UC
squad is made of. The rematch on a neutral floor with Illinois
will give us
a glimpse of what to expect come tourney time. Another
embarrassing blow
out will certainly kill our confidence, however if we can hang
with them
attack thier weaknesses (if they have any) and hope that they
don't shoot it
62% this could give us just the confidence we need to make a nice run.
Kirkland is definitely one of the keys to the season, but it all
hinges back
to Jihad. Watching him go in person was more impressive than I
ever
expected. The kid has unwavering confidence, especially being
just the
first year in Hugg's system. If he can spread some of his
confidence to
Kirk and James, I think we will be just fine.
Good to be back and Good Luck to the 'Cats

Hopefully the Kirk that showed up Saturday is here for good. If
might be a long season. Glad were not in the Big East yet, or itcould be
a NIT first for the bearcats.
