RE: Rotations

Even though we have lack of depth in the front court, we should have very fast and athletic team. Hopefully we can get back to the basic of last years defense at the begining of the season, a rough pyhsically full court press. Max and hicks are two of the most agressive and pyhsical players in the ncaa. Hicks can make up for height with his speed and strenght. Remember he used to play wing but is doing fine at the PF position.

Our team as a whole is extremely deep, and we have what is consider the key to and ncaa title, a few NBA caliber players, we have maxiell who will definitly be one, and nick williams who has the speed and slashing ability to make big plays at his natural postion, and he can made the big shots, once the pressure is off him.

We also have a team that is a small speedy player, like the team we played in the first round of the tournament last year, is jihad muhammad. If you can consider our frontcourt to be small, just look at our wing men, not many teams have two players with the hieght and the athletism are our James white and armein Kirkland.

The key to the season is how they dealt with a different coach and how huggins dealt with the monce he got back, but I definitly think are team is better than unranked, we have 4 starting players back considering who played at the end of the season.

Send back any feedback

Evan

Good analysis. The minutes might play out like that.

We woefully lack depth in the frontcourt. Whether they'd be good or not,
Whaley & Pilgrim were supposed to be on this team & we have no replacements
for them.

As I wait for the polls to close, I've gotten a chance to look at our
personnel for this year.

The good news: the backcourt
PG - Moore, Muhammad, Lucas
SG - White, Williams, Banks
SF - Kirkland, (White), Bright

The good but shallow: the frontcourt
PF - Maxiell, (Kirkland)
PF - Hicks, Souleyman

We have 7 proven players in the rotation, and 4 new players (Souleyman,
Muhammad, Banks, and Bright)

How might the 200 minutes get shared?
PG Moore - 25, Muhammad 15
SG White - 15, Williams 20, Banks 5
SF Kirkland - 20, (White - 15), Bright 5
PF Maxiell - 33, (Kirkland - 10)
PF Hicks - 32, Souleyman 5

Maxiell 33
Hicks 32
White 30
Kirkland 30
Moore 25
Williams 20
Muhammad 15
Banks 5
Bright 5
Souleyman 5

Compared to last year - we will have better play at the point, we will miss
Kareem Johnson, but I wouldn't want to go inside against Hicks and Maxiell.
If we can keep them on the court, it should be another great year.

Go Cats!
DF
