I don't think that its Rod Flowers. There's a recruit they've been chasing
with the same last name. Somebody help me out here.

I just don't want to get Madsen or Wolly. I think Madsen would do good at
some small school and I don't like a skinny seven footer who likes the 3
Ball when we have Evans and Banks to shoot that. I'm thinking that a JC big

man is looking like the right choice for our last scolly.

BTW: I was looking on some other UC website and they were talking about
getting Rod Flowers back. Can this actually happen?

I'm thinking I don't care who plays where and when. We're deep.

This wasn't really a prediction, but more of a ideal situation to me. I
seriously doubt we'll have 5 starters in double digits, but wouldn't that
be

nice?

I could also see Banks starting at some point by the way people have talked
about him. I caught some of Lance Maclister's show yesterday. They didn't
get a chance to talk about the players and upcoming season much, but at the
end, Meacham seemed extremely high on Banks. He also said something like
Banks can get down and guard people too.

I hope your prediction come true, but I
can't see all five starters averaging
double digits.
PG-Jihad Muhammad 8 points 4-5 assist 3 rebounds
SG-Vincent Banks 10 points 2-3 assist 3 rebounds
SF-James White 12 points 4-5 assist 5 rebounds
PF-Jason Maxiell 15 points 2-3 blocks 8 rebounds
C-Erik Hicks 8 points 2-3 blocks 8 rebounds

I cannot see White or Kirkland starting at the
SG position. That's not to say they will not get
minutes there, but White has not shown a consistent
outside shoot to play there. We need someone who can
make 3's with regularity to keep defenses from sagging
in the paint. Vincent Banks and Nick Williams are the
only 3 point threats on this team. I believe Banks will
be starting by the time UC starts playing conference games.

The bench looks would look like this.
PG-Chadd Moore 4 points 2-3 assist 2 rebounds-I hope I am
wrong and he becomes the player we all expected him to
be coming out of high school.
SG-Nick Williams 8 points 2 assist 3 rebounds
SF-Armein Kirkland 10 points 3 assist 5 rebounds
SF-Roy Bright 6 points 1-2 assist 5 rebounds
PF-Mike Pilgrim 2 points 1 blocks 3 rebounds
C-Asrangue Souleymane 1 points 1 block 1 rebound

We would average 84 PPG based on this prediction and
this might be too much as well. If Huggs lets this
team run we could average 85ppg

With the season approaching closer, I thought it would be fun to
speculate
on how the players will perform. There are obviously many questions to
this

year's team, but here is what I would like to see happen along with some
starter stats:

PG
(starter) Jihad becomes the true PG we have been waiting for. He is
quick
and fast, able to penetrate defenses, distribute the ball, run the
offense
effectively, and make shots and free throws. 10pts/7asst

(backup) Moore is finally healthy and serves as a high quality backup.
When

Jihad is out of the game, we do not loose a beat.

SG
(starter) White develops a consistent perimeter jump shot to go along
with
his superior athletic ability and ball handling skills to become the 2nd
leading scorer on the team and the most versatile player. Due to our
lack
of height in the post, it will be a plus having a 2G with height.
15pts/5reb/3asst

(backups) Williams becomes comfortable and effective at his natural
position. He becomes the offensive spark off the bench. Banks mostly
gets
garbage minutes and takes this year more as a learning experience, but
watch

out for next year.

SF
(starter/backup) I'm kinda torn at this position. I'm extremely excited
about Bright and I think he could contribute significantly right away,
but
I

would also like to see Kirkland play up to his potential. Perhaps a
split
role like Bobbit and Field last year at the 2G? I think Bright could
also
play some spot minutes at PF due to his rebounding ability. I would like
to

see 10pts/6reb from the starter at SF.

PF
(starter) Max continues to refine his low post game and improve his
jumper.

17pts/10reb/3blk

(backup) Pilgrim shows off his athletic ability and is able to provide
quality back up minutes as the first big man sub off the bench. Bright
also

sees some minutes at PF.

C
(starter) Hicks brings his fiery competitiveness to each game and becomes

a
monster on the blocks even with his lack of height. 11pts/8reb/2blk

(backup) Pilgrim is the first post player off the bench, but Souley
develops

as the season goes on to be able to provide some quality backup minutes.

I know I have each starter averaging double-digit points and that's
probably

not likely, but hey, this is just what I would like to see. In any case,
I'm just getting very excited to see how this team turns out.
