My philosophy is this, if you're not making any money at it, frankly
they can't afford to chase you down, and the first step would be a
"cease" order (I was just afraid to try and spell "desist" is that
right?) You know... "you have 48 hours to remove said logo from your
site or we will prosecute" etc.
If your not selling it, or "mistreating" it, they probably won't be
bothered by the use of it.

How do these other websites get away with it then? How many message
boards are there out there that use school logos all over the place?
It seems as long as nobody can gain financially off of it, it doesn't
hurt the university, and they don't sell anything in conjunction with
it, it would be dumb to go after the people running the site. If
anything, these sites bring more money into the university by creating
free publicity for them.
