It's quite possible that he called the recruits from
his office before he met with the team.

Bearcats add Martin to coaching staff
---------------------------------

By Bill Koch
Enquirer staff writer

Frank Martin joined the University of Cincinnati
basketball coaching staff today as an assistant
coach replacing associate head coach Dan Peters, who
left UC in July to join Thad Matta's staff at Ohio
State.
Martin, 38, has spent the last four years at
Northeastern University, the last three under head
coach Ron Everhart, who withdrew from consideration
for the UC job.
Before his tenure at Northeastern, Martin won three
state championships and posted a 102-10 record at
Miami (Fla.) Senior High School.
"We needed an East Coast presence going into the Big
East," said UC coach Bob Huggins. "He gives us that.
He's got great ties in the state of Florida, so
he'll be able to get us into a recruiting area that
previously we weren't able to get into."
In addition to his recruiting duties, Martin will
work with the UC big men.
"This is one of the top 10 programs in the country,"
Martin said. "This is a dream job."
