And probably not a real statistic. NFL receivers don't have that speed.
Sounds like another Martin Iti "he's 7'0 but only measures 6'8 in socks at
the combine" type stat.

I'm still in shock over the 3.2 second full court
speed. I knew Clemente is fast, but that is close to a
4.0 second 40, that is crazy speed.

Clemente will visit UC on 9/25/04, the
same weekend Byron Eaton is scheduled
to visit. I cannot remember the last
time UC has 3 top PG's visisting there

The recruitment of Denis Clemente, the No. 90 ranked
player in the
Rivals150, is changing daily. The 6-foot-1,
165-pound point guard from
Calusa Prep in Miami, Fla., just picked up another
offer according to his
AAU coach Art Alvarez.

Clemente is a high octane point guard.
"Right now Denis is considering offers from Ohio
State, Arkansas,
Cincinnati, Miami, and South Florida," said Coach
Alvarez of the Miami
Tropics. "He also likes Indiana and Wake Forest.
They are all even across
the board. I would say that they are all right there
and have a chance."

Cincinnati is the latest school to make a strong
push for Clemente.

"Cincy just offered Denis today and want him bad,"
said Alvarez. "They said
they would take him without him even taking a visit.
Assistant coaches Frank
Martin and Andy Kennedy are recruiting Denis. They
are doing a great job.
Frank Martin was just recently hired by the Bearcats
and has really turned
up the pressure on Denis."

Alvarez also spoke about the schools that Clemente
will visit and the ones
that are recruiting him the hardest.

"We will be taking visits to Ohio State, Arkansas,
Miami, Cincinnati, and
South Florida, in that order starting sometime this
week," he said. "They
will all be back to back.
"Cincinnati, Miami, and Ohio State have made a big
impact on how much they
want Denis. They would all take him right now with
out even taking a visit."

One aspect of Clemente's recruitment that does seem
certain is a decision in
the near future.

"He will definitely be making a decision soon," said
Alvarez. "Who knows,
the way things are going right now, he may even
decide before he even takes
a visit."

Add Denis Clemente to the list of PG's that want to
visit UC. UC hires Martin and all of the sudden one
of
the top players in Southern Florida (Miami) who's
from
PR wants to visit. Coincidence? I think not.

Regardless, UC has the potential to bring
in a very strong recruiting class for this
year. Tyree Evans take one scholarship-Top 100
player, Downey or Eaton will get the 2nd
scholarship-both are rated in the top 50,
McCauley or Flowers-Both top 100, can get the
third offer and the fourth is a wild card.
Could possibly go to James Davis, Kyle Madsen,
Magnum Rolle, or Dominique Archie. That should
give us a top 10-15 class. I know I am
thinking to far in advance, but we have
a huge opportunity to land some big time
recruits.
