Maybe Bob will bring them into the Shoe and have them play a little one on
one. Better yet maybe they will play two on two and split up Hicks and
Mad Max. I'd pay to see those matchups.

I agree, I believe Huggins is changing
the way he recruits. In the past he
recruited the bigger & stronger players
to fit his style of play, but after
watching what happened against ETSU
& Illinois last year he may be recruiting
speed over brawn. Tyree Evans is listed
as been ultra quick with an explosive game.
Clemente and Downey are two of the fastest
PG's in the country. Eaton is more like
a bulldozer with the ball. I could care
less which PG commits, just as long as we
can land one of them. I still feel UC is
targeting Eaton and Downey over Clemente, but
Clemente is scheduled to visit the same
weekend the Eaton is visiting. I wonder how
that will work out.

Just a pet peeve of mine, but I hate that "bigger and stronger" mindset.
Bigger and Stronger doesn't help when watching a quicker guard race by
you.

"165 pounds" ..... that's what scares me about Clemente. If he isn't big
enough and strong enough he'll be in the same situation Chad Moore has
been
in. Bigger and stronger guards will push him around and score on him and
he'll end up riding the pine for two years in Huggins system until he
adds
some weight and strength.

Hey, can we stop talking about recruiting and b*tch about the upcoming
schedule for awhile. Just kidding! :) Funny how that one comment got
this
thread going like crazy though!

"Extremely fast with the ball, Clemente is a dynamic scoring point guard.
He
can get into the lane and shoot the three ball. At his best in
transition,
Clemente will need to get stronger to excel in a half court, slower
game."

Isn't that Kenny Satterfield (as described as a HS senior)? He made a
lot
of 3's in HS.

My Bad...Rivals.com is reporting that
Clemente will visit UC on 9/25/04, the
same weekend Byron Eaton is scheduled
to visit. I cannot remember the last
time UC has 3 top PG's visisting there
campus. Unbelievable!!!!

The recruitment of Denis Clemente, the No. 90 ranked player in the
Rivals150, is changing daily. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from
Calusa Prep in Miami, Fla., just picked up another offer according to his
AAU coach Art Alvarez.

Rivals.com

Clemente is a high octane point guard.
"Right now Denis is considering offers from Ohio State, Arkansas,
Cincinnati, Miami, and South Florida," said Coach Alvarez of the Miami
Tropics. "He also likes Indiana and Wake Forest. They are all even across
the board. I would say that they are all right there and have a chance."

Cincinnati is the latest school to make a strong push for Clemente.

"Cincy just offered Denis today and want him bad," said Alvarez. "They
said
they would take him without him even taking a visit. Assistant coaches
Frank
Martin and Andy Kennedy are recruiting Denis. They are doing a great job.
Frank Martin was just recently hired by the Bearcats and has really
turned
up the pressure on Denis."

Alvarez also spoke about the schools that Clemente will visit and the
ones
that are recruiting him the hardest.

"We will be taking visits to Ohio State, Arkansas, Miami, Cincinnati, and
South Florida, in that order starting sometime this week," he said. "They
will all be back to back.
"Cincinnati, Miami, and Ohio State have made a big impact on how much
they
want Denis. They would all take him right now with out even taking a
visit."

One aspect of Clemente's recruitment that does seem certain is a decision
in
the near future.

"He will definitely be making a decision soon," said Alvarez. "Who knows,
the way things are going right now, he may even decide before he even
takes
a visit."

Extremely fast with the ball, Clemente is a dynamic scoring point guard.
He
can get into the lane and shoot the three ball. At his best in
transition,
Clemente will need to get stronger to excel in a half court, slower game.

Add Denis Clemente to the list of PG's that want to
visit UC. UC hires Martin and all of the sudden one of
the top players in Southern Florida (Miami) who's from
PR wants to visit. Coincidence? I think not.

Mike,
With Maryland pulling out of the Downey
sweepstakes, do you see Huggins pushing
hard for a commitment from him on his
visit to UC? Or will he still look for
Eaton to commit the following week.
Regardless, UC has the potential to bring
in a very strong recruiting class for this
year. Tyree Evans take one scholarship-Top 100
player, Downey or Eaton will get the 2nd
scholarship-both are rated in the top 50,
McCauley or Flowers-Both top 100, can get the
third offer and the fourth is a wild card.
Could possibly go to James Davis, Kyle Madsen,
Magnum Rolle, or Dominique Archie. That should
give us a top 10-15 class. I know I am
thinking to far in advance, but we have
a huge opportunity to land some big time
recruits.
