Apparently he was cincys backup plan if Nick Williams fell through. But george did not qualify and went to juco instead.
----------
Ray George, a 6-4 combination guard from Decatur (GA) Christian Academy, includes the Pirates in his first five along with Miami, Memphis, Georgia and Cincinnati. He has taken an official visit to Georgia.
A big-time scorer, George handles the ball very well. Some coaches believe he handles it well enough to play point guard at the Division I level. Clemson, Florida State, Rutgers, Florida and St. John?s are others chasing him.
East Carolina reportedly is the leader for George, and it appears that he is the No. 1 backcourt priority for Bill Herrion and his staff at this time.
George?s strength is driving the ball to the basket. He finishes well and pulls up for the medium-range jump shot. His three-point shot needs improvement.

Ray George, a 6-4 combination guard from Virginia Beach (VA) Coastal Christian Academy, was sold on Georgia State by Panthers' head coach Lefty Driesell after being pursued by ECU, Georgia, Memphis and others. George?s favorite was Cincinnati, but the Bearcats stopped calling when they received a commitment from juco wing guard Nick Williams.

Ray George, a 6-4, 180 pound combo guard from Coastal
Christian Academy in Virginia Beach, Va., has turned in some
fine performances this spring.
A guard blessed with good size, George is primarily a scorer, but he has the handle to possibly make the transition to the one slot at the high Division I level.
George said that he is considering St. John's, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis,Florida and Georgia.
A native of Decatur, Ga., George has already unofficially visited Georgia. George has a busy summer ahead which should
include pit stops at the NBA Players Association Camp and the Nike All-American Camp. He's not sure if he'll play in June with Linzy Davis' Team Georgia Elite squad or J.O. Stright's Pittsburgh JOTS squad.
