DUH, nobody can compete with the Dukes. That's why they get all the talent
and UC doesn't. For UC to make it to 13 straight NCAA's with their limited
talent pool is a kudo's to the coaching staff. Thank you again for the
compliments to Huggin's coaching abilities.

Lets talk about HUGS, Rob just seems to be a good example of a bigger
problem with Hugs system. Huggins and college coaching is more about
recruiting top tier players than coaching, which explains why great college
coaches normally make terrible pro coaches. The reason, pro coaching is
more about managing talent and making a system that fits the ever-changing
talent and multi-million dollar attitudes on pro teams. A top draft pick or
free-agent can get a NBA coach fired and a top college coach can make a top
talent transfer (if he doesn't buy into a system). That's the difference.
Furthermore, Huggins/UC cannot compete against the Dukes, NCs, and Big Ten,
when it comes to recruiting top tier players that do not have baggage.
Huggins/UC has gained national prominence and job security by being known as
the program that recruits the best troubled talent in the country. IT'S NOT
GIVING THOSE KIDS 2ND AND 3RD CHANCES; IT'S ABOUT GIVING UC'S PROGRAM ITS
ONLY CHANCE TO COMPE!
TE
AGAINST THE DUKES, NCS, ETC. But if the troubled kid doesn't produce,
throw him out on his back.

The problem is Huggins cannot break Rob's stubbornness, and Rob has yet to
produce under Huggins antics or disciplines. But let there be NO doubt,
Huggins recruited Rob because Rob was very successful on the court in high
school and at Barden Community College, and was ranked by top scouts for
years as one of the nations top players and NBA prospects (because of his
performance on the court). Big Rob's rankings changed only since he played
for Huggins. However, I would bet he could make an NBA team after workouts
because no one can question his potential--- and NBA coaches manage
potential.

I agree about James. If he had a consistent shot and
some more strength, we all would have been talking
about him in the same glowing terms as Max, Eric, and
Tony last season. If James happens to come out next
season without improvement in his shooting (something
I doubt actually), does anyone think Huggs will decide
to put an end to James' track and field career? ;-)

Looking at the shooting percentages one other person
stuck out to me
besides Whaley. James White. Do you know he only
shot 38%? For a guy
who played so much and has so much skill that is
very disappointing.

Did you know that Whaley averaged a foul every 6
minutes? By far the
worst on the team. Tony Bobbitt was 2nd at 7.51.
The best was Field at
17 minutes but you could argue he was to slow to
foul anyone :-) Just
kidding we love you field.

I wish we had the stats of points scored on defender
per minute. I
believe Rob would win this hands down as well.
Okay, Okay I am done
beating Rob down.

To end this I personally hope Rob is not back on the
team because I don't
think he brings that Bearcat attitude but I hope he
gets his act together
and gets his degree.
