Actually, the UCLA loss can be attributed to a bone head play by
Donald Little near the middle of the 2nd half. If I remember
correctly, UC was up 13 at the time and Little committed two mistakes,
one a foul that allowed UCLA to quickly score 5 or 6 points on a
single possession. When it occurred, I commented to my wife that if
UC lost this game, you could point to this event as the turning point.

UCLA was one of the most talented teams in the country that year, I do not
think it was luck but them finally having something to play for. They were,
I believe, ranked as high as #4 that year. Not bad for a 8/9 seed ;-)

Also, in Logan's case, he was matched up against a 6-6 guy. Stokes
certainly did his best to compensate for that mismatch (39 pts). The UCLA
loss is certainly one that can be attributed to pure luck. They made a lot
of crazy shots in that one.
I was disappointed that Satt stayed for two seasons, but not disappointed at
all in his productivity during those two years.

Have to disagree about Kenny Satterfield. I think he was the last
true PG we had. BTW, his last season with UC was the last time UC
made it past the 2nd round. Coincidence? I think not.

I would have to agree with that statement.
Huggins has recruited to many combo guards to play PG in college.
Nick Willims, Kenny Satterfield, Steve Logan, Chadd Moore. All were
combo PG's or Shoot First PG's. I could only imagine if Logan would
of had another reliable 3 point shooter on his team or a PG who
could break down the defense off the dribble.
Guard play wins National Championships.. We have had many good
guards, but we have not had a true PG and a solid 2 guard in many
years.
