Why Whaley and the NBA sucks (long post)

The best that Robert Whaley could do in the NBA currently would be to go
to the NBADL. And even then I don't know if they would want him. He
doesn't work, he has a whole hell of a lot of baggage, he has an
attitude problem, he can't play defense, he can't post a guy up, etc.
etc... he is nowhere near being good enough to play in the NBA.
-------------------------NBA RANT------------------------
The problem with the NBA is the fact that a player can get a coach
fired. The coach might need to "manage" the players in the NBA, but last
I heard a coach was supposed to do what he thought best for his team,
not what a player thinks is best for him.
I no longer watch the NBA due to these players. They have turned me off
because instead of working as a team, and doing what the team needs to
win, you get people like Iverson who believes it is all about them and
they don't need to do what their coach tells them. They are a bunch of
overpaid whiney jackasses who don't care about anything more than their
stats and how much more money they can make on their next contract.
There is a reason why the NBAs ratings have gone down in the past 5
years, and that is probably most of it. Granted, I've never been a huge
fan of the NBA, but I don't watch anything now. I used to watch a game
if I saw MJ, or Magic, or Bird... they played the game the way it was
meant to be played. Now all you see is Kobe taking 40 shots a game,
getting into fights in the media with teammates. Or AI saying that his
coach is an idiot. No respect for authority.

Iroq,
Since you seem to be such a good friend with him, why is he not in
Cincinnati working out, getting in shape, making himself a better player
with the rest of the team? How come he let himself get stuck in this
eligibility problem? Only one answer comes to my mind... laziness. He is
lazy, plain and simple. Put in a few extra hours of school work in the
spring and this doesn't come up. Put in the effort to make yourself a
better basketball player, and listen to Huggins and Oscar and you are
out of the doghouse. Instead he is lazy and fails a course he shouldn't
have and then goes home and bitches about UC making him pay for his
extra class.
I'm sorry, but his bitching does not make me feel sorry for him, I
worked my ass off to get through school, on a much harder major
(Information Systems) than what Whaley is going through. I also worked
30 hours a week, took 70 hours of classes my last 3 quarters of school
while at UC, and had meetings with group members at least 3 nights a
week and 1 day on the weekend. I never once failed a class in all of
that, while taking the toughest classes I had during my stay at UC. If I
can do that, Robert Whaley can find time to pass his 12 hours of classes
each quarter, get in shape, work on his defense and his post game, and
listen to a coach who has shown he knows how to prepare his players for
the NBA.
Robert Whaley will just be a plain old loser in my book until he shows
he is ready to take responsibility for himself and his career. Maybe he
should take a page out of Tony Bobbit's book and shut up, get his ass in
gear, and do what it takes to be the best player he can be. Then maybe
Robert will be making some big $$ next season.
