I agree!  Keep in mind, it doesn't take a whole lot to maintain academically.  I don't know Rob's schedule, but I'm willing to bet there isn't an engineering degree in his future.  In fact, from what I've seen posted here in the past, most basketball players that do obtain a degree, seem to gravitate toward "criminal justice", which leads me to believe it's not the most rigorous curriculum at the University level.  If you can't maintain a passing grade level with the watered-down academics of many athletes, amid the plethora of tutoring and academic services at their disposal, you're either not trying very hard or have problems so extensive that college is probably not the place to be in order to overcome them.  (I apologize to those real student-athletes, and there are many, for whom sport is a means to assist them in getting an education and meaningful degree in preparation for their life's work).

I think this team is much better off without a lazy center.  I know he is going to have lots of trouble getting the job done but give Soulman a chance.  He struggles this year and then maybe his Junior and Senior season he becomes a force in the middle.  I would rather struggle some and watch a hustling team like UAB last year then a lazy team that has tons of talent but just squeaks by.  Just my two cents.

Hopefully - I think Huggs will realize Whaley is doing everything he can and
working hard (hopefully he is) and do whats best for the team - bring the
guy we need back.
