I thought most players went to summer school. And if Whaley does, he will be eligible.

So whats the big deal ? Why do they say he's "not on the roster" ?

Is there a roster when the team doesnt play or practice ?

Did he lose his scholarship ?

Is this a motivating tool ?

Re: Whaley. Well, making up 3 credits during the summer is VERY easy, IF
you are there.

In the summer there are 3 3-week sessions, the quarter term, and 2
half-sessions. The first 3-week session is done and the second one is
starting next week I believe. Only the 2nd and 3rd 3-week sessions and the
second half session are options. I don't think there are many 2nd half
options, so he is limiting himself greatly at this point.

But why is this not surprising?

As for Pilgrim, I am very pleased to see he did what was necessary. I have
withheld judgment on him, and now I will judge him with high marks. Anyone
who takes care of business like that gets my props!

The Enquirer is reporting that Pilgrim is elegible and back on the squad,
while Whaley is 3 credits short and is ineligible (although he could make up
those 3 credits in summer school and become elegible). Pilgrim is good
news - I'm not sure if Whaley's inelegibility is good or bad news - might be
better if he just went away based on past performance.
