I just completed a recruiting update on five players plus I added a file
on Flowers. The update includes some glowing praise for OJ Mayo and
implies that Withrow's Chris Knight has grown two inches over the last
few months.
I agree with Inzetta's remark about two sport options for Eaton. Track
and basketball do not overlap as much.

Subject: [UC Basketball] Byron Eaton & Gary Flowers
I have to believe that we are the front runner for Byron Eaton & Gary
Flowers. Byron Eaton has already visited Oklahoma State(unofficially),
but did not commit. Two of the 3 players he visited Stillwater with
committed to the Cowboys. He told Rivals.com that UC and Oklahoma State
are his favorite schools.
Dallas (Texas) Lincoln standout Byron Eaton , a 5-foot-11 and 210
pounder, not only must decide what college to attend, but what sport or
sports to play. Eaton has schools in hot pursuit for his talents in both
football and basketball.
"Mainly people don't think I'm going to play football in college, "Eaton
said. "Most people are recruiting me for basketball. But I'm going to
sign to play both."
"I'm just looking at Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, and Georgia Tech for a
basketball top three."
"If I was to go just football, Oklahoma and Kansas State would be
there."
"But Kansas State said I can do both. Oklahoma is recruiting me for one
sport or the other. Illinois offered me for basketball. Baylor says
both. San Diego State is another one I'm looking at."
"Cincinnati and Oklahoma State are my favorites. Oklahoma State says I
can do both. Cincinnati is just basketball."
Eaton, who says he is being recruited as either a strong safety or
running back, led Lincoln to a 10-2 record during his junior season. He
passed for 1000 yards and rushed for 1500.
On the basketball court Eaton averaged 22.3 points per game, seven
assists, and 3.1 steals.
I think that Eaton is just waiting the outcome on our coaching
situation. If Huggins gets reinstated in time to do in home visits,
this should be a done deal. If Eaton and Flowers commit, to go along
with Tyree Evans we should have plenty of scoring options when they are
sophomores. Also, Mike is their anyway we can start a file on Gary
Flowers? He lit up the Addidas camp yesterday with a 27 point 8reb
effort.
