Gregg,
While I share your resentment for OSU, I would disagree with Huggs harboring
hate for the Buckeyes. When asked before about O'Brien, Huggs was quoted as
saying and I'm paraphrasing, "I think he's done a good job up there. I'm
not one of these haters".

Subject: [UC Basketball] OSO: Is this *really* a surprise. {?}

Not to me, not at all. That school has always tried to portray itself
(even
before Bobby) as a better institution for learning as well as for athletics

then the 'real' school that represents the state of Ohio better all around
IMO.
I don't agree with any of it and never did. As for the athletics, how can
you 'truly' respect a school that calls themselves "THE" Oh...etc.etc. but
will
only play the other 'name' school in the state, in a sport where it SHOULD
win nine out of ten, but just absolutely refuse to play in the sport where
they
know they'll get 'schooled.'
Huggs has said "Anytime- anywhere".......yet they STILL refuse because of
'their' image of their superiority. Yet they'll try an get UC's womens
hoops
coach (if I remember right) and pull tooth and nail for every recruit UC
tries
to get. This last recruiting fiasco with osu, really 'smelled'......at
least
to me it smelled of impropriety, but you can't prove it unless one of the
kids or a former assistant gets mad and speaks up but then it's too late.
The parting shot by Butler (if that was his name) 'smelled' of osu, that
IMO
didn't come from that kids mind - just his mouth. osu has been jealous of
*THE* University of Cincinnati since UC whipped their tails for the National

Titles two years in a row, bottom line.
Then comes along Mr Robert Huggins, with his osu ties, can you see the
pattern? We all know what Huggs is about, he isn't a phoney, he calls it as
he
sees it - and his 'honest' persona is NOT a fit for a school like
osu/duke/uk/unc. Isn't that kinda strange? All the 'big name' schools??
Coincidence? I
think not. I 'truly' think, almost to the point of saying I KNOW -but I
don't-
so I can't use that word, that Huggs knows what that school up north is
REALLY all about. And osu KNOWS Bobby does, it makes for the hate- hate
relationship that is fueled every couple years in some way by osu towards
UC.
Now we have their former assistant football coach....lol. It is going to
close that door even closer to osu's 'Money Sport.' O'Brian was trying
soooooo
hard to close that gap with UC he couldn't see straight and if you don't
think
those big money boosters up there don't pull his and everyone elses
strings,
you're kidding yourself.
Bottom Line:" What comes around- really does go around." That is why that
saying has stood the test of time, other than one other school that just
for
'some reason' can't squeeze us into their schedule but will schedule
everyone
else <hint> <wink> it couldn't have happened to a better 'institution of
learning.'
Huggs isn't going to go there, remember, UC and Huggs is 'everything' osu
doesn't want to be, which is 'winners.' Ha!
<off my chair>
