I would guess that none of Eaton's football offers are to play
quarterback, which is in part the reason why he says he is now focused
solely on basketball. He'd probably rather be initiating the action at
point guard (as he would at quarterback) rather than reacting at
cornerback.

Subject: [UC Basketball] Basketball/Football - Byron Eaton
It would be nice if Huggins and Dontanio(sp?) would get together on this
kid. It sounds like he could help us in football and basketball. If
Ohio State is recruiting him I would think he could help our football
team and if he is rated #55 and a pg I would think the basketball team
could use him. Just a thought.
06/01/04: "A two-sport standout on both the hardwood and the gridiron,
5-foot-10 Bryon Eaton of Dallas, TX says his complete focus is now
centered on basketball. (snip) On the recruiting trail, Eaton lists
Cincinnati, Louisville, Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech as his current
favorites, and said the Cardinals and Bearcats comprised his top two.
Eaton may try to make an unofficial visit to UC this summer." -

According to Rivals, Eaton has offers from Okla State, Baylor, Ohio
State and Oklahoma - in football. He runs the 40 in 4.4 seconds. He
threw 9 touchdown passes and rushed for 12 TDs last year. He averaged
8.6 yds a carry. - Mike Ryan
