My perception is the coaching staff would prefer to sign a big man with
the last available scholly. They are working all possible angles and
connections to get that to happen. If that doesn't happen, then say
hello to Chris Lofton.
I foresee Chadd Moore and Jamal Lucas both healthy and on scholarship
this fall.

It would have to be one of the first 2; if Moore is "red-shirted" he
still counts - unless he gives up basketball; Whaley has given every
indication that not only is he staying, he may well take his senior, and
LAST, year seriously; and I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the NCAA
offices if they tried to put White on a track scholarship while keeping
him on the basketball team. I know that UC doesn't cover room & board
for its employees' children, but if he lived at home, all that would be
left would be food, books, and incidental spending money (which the
scholarship wouldn't cover anyhow).
As others have said, it will be interesting to see how this plays out -
especially if, as is likely, there aren't really any quality big men out
there for this year (& they'd have what, 4 scholarships for next year?).

Other scenarios discussed could be Pilgrim just walking on, Lucas
"giving up" his scholarship, Moore leaving for health/PT reasons
(redshirt?), or a player (Whaley?) deciding to leave. It would
probably be too much to ask for White to go on a track scholarship...
Oh well, 5 and a half months until Midnight Madness!
