Having not seen Memphis play much this year can someone tell me if they are
a good "outside" shooting team.....can they shoot the three with
consistency.

It seems to me that this game may be the game where we institute the
match-up zone to contain their dribble penetration. Playing zone against a
team like Charlotte (perimeter scoring oriented) was not a good idea, but
for Memphis this may be the perfect scenario.

Now, enough Memphis talk. We have to concentrate on Depaul, as this game
may even be tougher considering the venue and the way they've been playing
lately.

Guilty!

My observations:

- Huggs completely out-coached Lutz in my opinion.
Charlotte seemed to go away from Withers - and when
Withers had it he was very off-balanced trying to draw
fouls. Charlotte got good shots in the 1st half, but
in the second half kept chucking 3s from 10 steps
behind the arc. I don't care if you are Peja
Stojakovic - you aren't going to hit contested shots
that deep. Not sure what Charlotte's 3 % was in the
second half, but I'd guess it was around 2-14 or so.
Cudos to Huggs for making the right
tweaks/adjustments. Other than the White lapse, it
seemed Charlotte barely scored in the last 10 minites.

- The combination of Kareem's productivity and White's
penetration/passing has been huge. Easier for Max;
easier for Field to get good shots. If one of Kareem
or Hicks can give us the stats we expected from Whaley
at the beginning of the year, our offense will not be
a problem.

- We need to take care of Depaul. Not to look ahead to
much, but I am terrified of Memphis. It seems to me
like everyone on their team are strong slashers and we
know how well we guard dribllers. Not sure who we have
(that plays) who is fast enough to guard Burks.
Luckily, Memphis can be very careless with the ball.
Should be a fun game, but we must take care of Depaul
first.

If Charlotte had
pulled off the win on Saturday, you probably would
have seen a lot more
posts yesterday.

Don't worry about the lull. This tends to happen
from time to time. I
suspect that traffic this week will be somewhat
normal and will
accelerate as we get closer to the DePaul game.

There were a lot of complaints about too many posts.
Maybe that slowed
some people down. I was the cause of it and I made
an effort to cut
back. Some people are a little timid about posting
to begin with and the
complaints probably had an effect on them. Its hard
to keep a happy
medium but people should be encouraged to post.Id
like to read someone
else make a stupid post other than myself. I dont
think it hurts to have
a FEW fun posts once in awhile. I have to leave
today but tomorrow I
will crank it up. Mabey Ha Don
