Yeah, it's funny because we work here in Louisville. I couldn't tell
you how many times I heard UofL fans talking about him and they all say
the same thing, "I remember that night that he lit us up here..."!

Roger is a classy guy. UC needs more ball players like him, on AND off
the court!

Brian;

I had the privilege of spending some time with Roger at the banquet
before the final four game in Minneapolis. I will never forget one
comment he made.... "I just wanted to be here, experience this and think
that maybe I contributed just a little to us being here". What a really
nice and classy guy he is! His unbelievable game against UofL will
always be one of the greatest performances in UC hoops history.

The problem with losing both Tony and Field is that
it's our entire 2-gaurd position, and we'll be losing
2/3 of our 3-point FG production. I wish one or the
other had one more year. But, Huggs will be able to
address the void, and it should be an excellent team.

All of this thinking about point guards reminded me
of a comment I wanted to
make regarding passing. I think this year's team is
both very good and very
bad passing the ball. Often, they see things
setting up and get the ball to
a guy who can do something with it (as noted by the
number of assists), but
often they do not get it to the guy in good
position. What I mean by that
is let's say Field is set up for a 3. I can't tell
you how many times the
ball is not thrown to his chest, but to his right,
left or low so that the
time it takes to reach for the ball and return to
the triple threat
position, he no longer has the option to shoot. I
think a number of players
need to focus a bit more on this as I think it would
lead greatly to the
offensive crispness we all desire to see.

Roy Bright has a great chance to be a McD's

All American.

I don't think that Max, Whaley or Nick will

leave early. None of them

are ready.

We will be still be STACKED next year. We only

lose
Field/Bobbitt/Kareem -

the core returning players will have a year of PT

together under their

belt.

Still have a more experienced

Maxiell/Whaley/Hicks in the middle -

hopefully
with Soulman and Pilgrim ready to play in a

backup role. Another big man

would help due to that being Max & Rob's senior

year.

Losing Field & Tony will hurt our wing play - but

we still have White and

Kirkland - and it looks like Banks and Bright

will get some early playing

time. Will Nick and Chadd continue to split time

at point? Interesting
to

see if this group can continue a pressing style.

More experience for

returners, but don't know if we can easily

replace those minutes, points,

and 3pt shooting.

Anyway - back to THIS season!!! I just like to

let the mind look ahead

just a little bit...
