So the set they ran with 1:16 remaining was a bad one? They got an open 3
from their best 3-point shooter.
If you think his offensive sets stink, then explain to me what EXACTLY you
would do differently, because I think this year's team runs the offense
fairly well. I mean they scored 83 points! I'm having a hard time with your
logic. Perhaps it's your emotions talking???
They simply got out-hustled, and out-muscled yesterday.

Kenyons year they were pretty good but most of it was
in transition or letting Kenyon do his thing. However,
Logan's year: yes, they were bad at the half court
set. Everything was created from Logan going one on
one, whether it be a pull up or a drive and dish.
Luckily, he was that good and we got a away with it.
And I agree, the effort was not very good today but
Huggs still got outcoached. His halfcourt sets stink!
And even in their big wins their half court offense
has not looked very good at all, I've been saying it
all along. Go back and watch tapes of their games, it
is their transition that get them all their points.
Its what produced their points today too. Eventually
when the game slows down and goes down to the wire you
have to be able to produce in the half court set and
they simply don't. Say what you want but it has always
been this way.

I hate to say it, but Huggs got out coached byBobby

He needs to hire an offensive coordinator. I'mhad a
actually starting to think that last years team
better half court offense than this years team.painful
Luckily, this year we have more talent. It's
to see Kareem Johnson and Eric Hicks taking 15foot
jump shots because their offense has no flow to itevery
whatsoever. Charlotte had an open shot after
timeout but Cinci did not have any good set playswon't
after timeouts.
I know their are a lot of people out their that
say anything bad about Huggins, but his half-courtis no
offense year after year is just pathetic. There
excuse this year because they have talent andinside
athleticism at every position. They have a good
scorer and great outside shooters but still ahorrible
half-court offense.
So Kenyon's senior year or Logan's senior year were
pathetic in the half court on offense? Charlotte
played with
more effort, but I do not necessarily think it was
coaching
that lost it.
I only saw part of the second half, but I saw things
like:
- Not rebounding missed field goals
- Throwing the ball to places where no one was on
the floor
- Shooting too many bad outside shots - too
quickly
- Not rebounding on the offensive end
- No effort in going after balls
- Backing down to physical play
- Not being prepared for your man to shoot - too
much space
To me it looked like a lack of effort and that has
NOTHING to
do with Huggs coaching. We will see if they do not
give effort
in the Xavier game forget this team doing anything
in the
tournament. I think they will, but you never know.
I will anxiously watch the first half. They are too
cocky and
I wish they would get their head out in the open and
see that
all they have to do is give effort.
Funny how Huggs is not criticized earlier until they
lose. You
are probably going to say that they did not have to
play in the
half court much, but they still played it and I
heard nothing
about the half-court offense.
Effort, effort, effort...
Andy
p.s. - losses may be good for this team becausethey
are way too cocky. They need to realize that theyTry it!
aren't as good as they think.
