IMHO, Huggins is a little harder on Hicks than others. Hicks posted up around the free throw line and was getting bumped from behind as the ball arrived. It should have been caught but I doubt Huggins would have made such an issue out of it if it happened to someone else.
You get the feeling that Huggins is harder on Hicks because he knows that if Hicks buys into what Huggins wants him to do then he could be the answer to the rebounding problem. Someone just needs to let Eric know that his best chance at getting 20 minutes a game are by focusing on the boards and getting his points off missed shots.

Thanks Brett - was there any "excuse" for this to have happened, or is he
really that inept?
By the way, Huggins also mentioned that he had spoken on Friday to Kirkland,
amongst other things, specifically about rebounding. I note from the box
score how well Arm responded - 1 in 15 minutes of play. :-(
When your 6' 10" center gets 1 rebound in 18 minutes on the floor, your 6'
8" small forward gets 1 in 15 minutes, and a power forward gets 1 in 12
minutes that is simply not good. Hugs is absolutely correct - that has to
be fixed before the schedule turns much more difficult.

By the way, without identifying the player, Huggins was absolutely
incredulous that one of the few times that they actually threw the ball
inside, it went right through the player's legs. He said that was the
only
time he could remember in his coaching career that a pass went through a
player's legs in such a circumstance, without him even getting his hands
on
the ball. He didn't identify the player - for those at the game who was
it - Johnson, Whaley, Maxiell?
