Subject: [UC Basketball] No Posts?

Hey, where are the posts on the game tonight? Still shocked by the
football
game on Friday.

First - the game was pretty bad, and my observations are based on things I
saw tonight that I am extrapolating ;-)

Undressed players
- Asrangue Soluleymane - nice suit and hat
- White
- Pilgrim
- Moore

I was hoping he'd see the light and redshirt. Now I am wondering if him
healing in a miraculous fashion wouldn't better serve this team.

- Bobbitt - what is up with this?

Yeah! I hope it was a "small" stupid thing, like missing a class. :)

Kareem - wow, you will not beleive the change - worked his butt off

Not a great first half, but very good second half.

Whaley - wow, showed glimpses of moves that you do not normally see from a
big dude.

His jump hook is real, his jump shot is not.

Max - he is Max - he really needs to use the glass, it would help his
short
shots.

I loved Max's effort. I think we are going to be all right in the low post
with the big 3.

Hicks - brick layer, also needs to use the glass on the 3' shots instead
of
putting up a 6 footer ;-)

Wow, I thought with his "explosive hops" back, he'd look a lot better. He
was very unimpressive and I am glad he is nothing more than the 4th option
right now at PF/C.

Nick W - tried to do too much, but he will be a very good player - listens
to Huggs

Yea, you could see some potential. His shot was OFF!

Field - still shooting that funky shot with horizontal spin - but driving

I loved the name on the back of the jersey: "Field". Drove about 3 times in
the first half. I think it will help his game alot.

Armein - funky shooting stroke, but lightning quick

He is going to help a lot this year. He can handle the ball somewhat and
take bigger guys off the dribble and shoot over the smaller ones. I can see
him playing PF in a "4-guard" lineup against some teams.

Jamaal - steady

Perfect word. I am pleased he earned a scholarship, and he will provid
decent backup minutes, but the fact that he may currently be the best PG is
a bit disconcerting.

Meeker - still improving

I love the guys effort and hustle. He may be the best passing guard on the
team. It is a shame that I could blow hard and knock him back 3 feet or
he'd see more time. He will lose a ball in a crowd every time.

This team really listens to Huggs and I think that he can teach them.
Their
foot quickness is high and Whaley makes a nice eraser under the hoop on
the
break. They should be able to institute a press this year. Their FT
shooting was a joke. Rebounding was very good and the hustle.

I think this team will be great rebounding the ball. They appear to "get
after it". I hope they increase their ability to "make shots"!

The place was pretty empty tonight. Anyone know why Bobbitt was out?
This
team will be one of Huggs that is going to improve as the season goes on -
where they end up - you know my guess - top-10 ;-)

Tony Bobbitt and Asrangue Souleymane did not play, Huggins said, because "I
didn't want to play them."
