Agree with most here. A couple of comments:

1)I thought Whaley just looked great! He moves really, really well for a big
man, and he has a really nice soft shot. He's going to score. Can he defend?
I watched him on D for quite a while. One time down he was playing behind
his man, got posted up and scored on. Next time down he fronted really well.
He has all the skills he just needs to be consistent.

2) Eric Hicks is... well, worthless. If he doesn't defend and rebound, once
White gets back he may never see the floor. The guy has NO SHOT! If he can't
dunk he cannot score, which is fine as long as he is an absolute warrior on
D and the boards. So, he better learn his role... quickly.

Overall, we clearly have more talent this year, especially when White is
eligible. It's just a matter of getting through November and part of
December while these guys learn what needs to be done.

Hey, where are the posts on the game tonight? Still shocked by the football
game on Friday.

First - the game was pretty bad, and my observations are based on things I
saw tonight that I am extrapolating ;-)

Undressed players
- Asrangue Soluleymane - nice suit and hat
- White
- Pilgrim
- Moore
- Bobbitt - what is up with this?

Kareem - wow, you will not beleive the change - worked his butt off
Whaley - wow, showed glimpses of moves that you do not normally see from a
big dude.
Max - he is Max - he really needs to use the glass, it would help his short
shots.
Hicks - brick layer, also needs to use the glass on the 3' shots instead of
putting up a 6 footer ;-)
Nick W - tried to do too much, but he will be a very good player - listens
to Huggs
Field - still shooting that funky shot with horizontal spin - but driving
Armein - funky shooting stroke, but lightning quick
Jamaal - steady
Meeker - still improving

This team really listens to Huggs and I think that he can teach them. Their
foot quickness is high and Whaley makes a nice eraser under the hoop on the
break. They should be able to institute a press this year. Their FT
shooting was a joke. Rebounding was very good and the hustle.

The place was pretty empty tonight. Anyone know why Bobbitt was out? This
team will be one of Huggs that is going to improve as the season goes on -
where they end up - you know my guess - top-10 ;-)
