Do they have to share/end their exclusive NBC contract?

Though we would like to think it does, nobody cares about conferences or
rivalries or academics or success or divisions or crossovers or ......

Tell me what happens to the NBC contract, and I will answer you question
for you.

I agree that BC is a big loss, but their fball program has been
consistently
good, but not really great. They are a good fit for the ACC and what
they
want, and given a choice, I would take BC over USF in a heartbeat, but
from
UC's perspective, I'd rather have Syracuse.

Question about ND: Does anyone think they will regain their Lou Holtz
days
of success? Personally, I do not think they can do it as an
independent. I
wonder how they would feel about a BE fball conference that eventually
went
to 12 teams, and fielded two 6 team divisions. You play the other 5
within
your division and 1 crossover game that rotates. That would be only 6
conf.
games. Would something like that be worth it if ND said they'd do it?
Ok,
so now I am thinking crazy stuff, but why not! ;-)

I think BC is a big loss. It has good name recognition in fb, is in a
great
market, and has a strong reputation for academics. It has some
cachet.Syr,
WVU & Pitt all have good fb history, but WVU & Syr are way down
recently.The
new BE will not be an impressive fb conference. Oh well.

Like everybody, I think USF is probably next in line.

Well, with BC going to the ACC, I guess it is for sure UC is going to
the
new BE. Who will join UL and UC? I figure USF based on media
reports,
but
would be interested in other thoughts? How do you think the divisions
would
break down in bball? I still think this will be the best basketball
conference in the US.

As for fball, the talk lately has been to include more conferences in
the
BCS. I read somewhere that if the BE is not part of the BCS, the BCS
would
no longer have the majority of Div I schools, so it seems "they" need
the
BE. With Syracuse, Pitt, etc. the BCS inclusion can be justified,
even if
it is the "worst" of the included conferences.

So for me, BC leaving is not a huge surprise and does not bother me as
much
as if it had been Syracuse, for instance.
