Chadd Moore Answer

I don't think I am revealing any insider information here, but I attended a
UCATS dinner last night and Coach Huggins publicly stated that Chadd may in
fact miss the season due to a back problem. He has been in a lot of pain.

Other comments by the Coach:

He is very proud (and rightly so) of the number of players graduating; some
even in 3 years. Mentioned Stokes, Flowers, Field, and a couple others.

James White is a great athlete. Don't miss the dunk contest at Midnight
Madness. Melvin had a higher vertical leap, but White can high jump over 7
feet.

We will be very strong at the wing. With White, Nick Williams, and Armein,
Bobbitt and Field will need to fight for minutes. (Sounds like a good
problem).

We will try to press. We aren't as quick as the pressing teams of the 90's,
but we are very "long."

We should rebound much better as a team. Whaley is not a great rebounder,
but he can rebound "in his area" and his presence will free up the double
teams on Max.

Whaley is in much better shape than the Summer league.

We won't recognize Kareem Johnson. He is much stronger.

Kirkland is much improved.

Nick Williams will have to start at the point with Chadd Moore out.

When asked if James White will be hurt by the year-long layoff, Bob
humorously said that James didn't think so. In fact, he decided to miss an
extra game by playing in the And One game.

Many magazines have us ranked in the top 10-15. Bob thinks we will be
better than that.

Soulamain (sp?) is great to coach. He says "Thank you Coach" all the time.
He may redshirt.

Pilgrim is not ready to play yet. He needs to adjust to the competition
level.

The starting line-up changes every day, but it could be Whaley, Max, Nick
Williams and Kirkland (I can't remember the 5th)

That's all I can remember. As usual, Bob was very entertaining.

Sincerely,

Mark
