Time out Dave, I thought Shoemaker was a politician since the Shoe is
a publicly funded arena? His name went on there since he was the one
that secured the funding...
Another question for you, what the hell is up with your picture in the
BSD? I have been meaning to bust your chops on that one. Springer
got a mod pic last year, what is up with your blurry pic? Trying to
remain anonymous ;-)
Brian is gone so I have to start taking on his duties of keeping you
in line ;-)

especially Myrl and Fifth Third, because they put up dough that helps
continue the UC tradition of athletics. At first glance, I wanted
to bemoan
the age of corporate naming, but these companies are getting a
small return
on the huge investments they put into the Bearcats.
Now, not all naming is good. "Cinergy Field?" Like they have to advertise?
Do folks have a choice? Not like we can opt for Brand X Power.
And then the
public utility passes along the price to customers, just like
their downtown
train display at Christmas.
Shoemaker was a private individual who put his money where his mouth was.
His place in UC tradition is sealed already, and we should all be thankful
to him because I believe the Shoe started the Bearcats national rep. You
think Huggs is able to recruit the guys he has playing at US Bank? Nope.
And the court, the sacred battlefield, is named for Jucker.
Because you just
can't put a price on some things.
Anyway. You all covered some of these points already, but I felt like
getting up on the soapbox for a few minutes. It's creaking, so
I'll get off
now.
