Those three big men were barely connected to UC just two months ago, so
it kinda comes and goes with recruiting.
The coaching staff always has their pulse on the Juco world. I'm sure
there are guys out there that are being looked at that are not public
yet. There always is. If neither Johnson, Habel or Willis sign with us
I wouldn't be surprised. After the Jamar and Alexander Johnson stories,
anything is possible.
I feel pretty in tune with the recruiting efforts, but I had never heard
of Kareem Johnson until about a month before he >signed<. I had never
heard of Rod Flowers, until the DAY he signed.
Like someone else eluded recently, Trust in Huggs.

Does anybody know what Huggins has planned for Midnight Madness? Also, I
noticed that we now have 3 big men targeted in Johnson, Habel, & Willis.
That is encouraging. Hopefully we will be able to land one or two of
them.
Does anybody know if we are recruiting JC prospects?

We all want to have a top 5 recruiting class every year. If we are
going to miss on some this is the year to do so. The '03 class is
first rate and who is to say the'05 class will not be as well. We have
a fantastic SG coming in '04 and who is to say that more quality is not
coming? The guy who is running the program has earned all Bearcat fans
trust. He knows what he is doing. As long as he is at the helm all
will be well and we will have one of the top programs in the nation to
represent the University. Huggs
will always find a way. He has since day one. CAN'T WAIT FOR MIDNIGHT
MADNESS!!!! Go Cats!!!!!

Good to hear some BB talk. It's less than a month to midnight madness,
and this list is awfully quiet.
I too am concerned about the recent recruiting problems. How long has
it been since the Cats landed a top15 HS recruit? Always coming in
second for recruits (Butler, Twig, Johnson) is cause for concern as
well.
Having said this, Huggs has a pretty good track record so there is no
need to panic. Also, great recruiting years are often followed by
weaker ones at most colleges. The incoming class is excellent, so it
should not be surprising if the next class is a little weaker.
Is this the first week of classes at UC? Are all of the recruits on
campus?

This is my first article I have written
on the forum, though I have been
reading this forum for years...
So far I am disappointed in our
effort to land some top recruits.
I can live w/Jamar Butler de-committing
and picking up Vincent Banks. I
here Banks is lights out on the offensive
end of the floor, plus he can create his own
shoot. Here is my concern, we were
suppose to be a near lock for Isaiah Swann.
No we are fighting to get a visit-Ouch!!!! Florida
State has made a huge leap over us(for the
2nd time, Alexander Johnson). Who is Huggins
back up plan at the point? We missed getting
Tack Minor because Huggins was counting
on Jamar coming to Clifton. I just don't want to
see another Taron Barker, Derek Hollman, Etc.
Last minute signees to fill a void left. Memphis
already has 2 top 15 commitments. L'ville
has Sebastian Telfair and Brian Johnson on campus
this weekend. The Cards are suppose to be the clear favorites for
both. Another questions is why are we not recruiting the PF or C
position this year. I have heard Jerome Habel is an absolute warrior
on the boards and a outstanding defender and he doesn't have a true
leader. I would be all over this guy before someone else does. I
hope Huggs has a good game plan. We are going to start needing top
10 class to compete in the new Big East...
