What is interesting/concerning in this article is the writers take on how
the 16 teams in the Big East will be aligned. He states, "In basketball, a
two-division setup likely will be based on geography. DePaul, Marquette,
Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Villanova, and West Virginia
could make up the West, leaving the East with Providence, Boston College,
Connecticut, St. John's, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Rutgers, and Georgetown."
I'd prefer an alignment of football schools in one bracket and non-football
in the other with crossover games against Depaul, Marq, & ND. This would
keep Uconn and Syracuse in UC's half and make the inevitable seperation of
football schools to a seperate league much easier.
