Guilty or not guilty the PR damage is already done.Brad,
I know exactly what you're saying and I agree. 'BUT'......I also have sense
enough to know that no matter if Hugg's kids were all at the top of their
class and led 'again' in the conference GPA, that it just doesn't matter.
I used to get sooo mad and upset with all the crap talked about Coach and
the kids. At first, most of it was warranted......and with sporadic
incidences sprinkled throughout the other seasons, I can understand maybe
'some' bad press.
But the print media and the cball 'experts' had all went overboard years ago
with Cincinnati. They needed to find the 'anti-Duke'......the team to
hate.....Huggs fed into the personna there for awhile with dressing all in
black....lol. Which BTW is/was great, and I hope he goes back to it.
No matter what Coach says or does or accomplishes, UC will always have that
label as the renegades. As for me, I say "bring it on." This coming
season's kids and the entire mens basketball program need to get back to
what got them the recognition in the first place.
Tough/hardnosed kids who don't take any crap, along with a Coach that you'd
want on your side in a barfight. I'm not happy with what happened, but
what can you do?? UC is always going to be looked at in a 'bad light' no
matter what, fair or not.
Gregg
