You're right.  I read the article wrong and thought that the brawl occurred on the Garden City campus, when in fact it occurred on the Barton County campus and involved members of Garden City's track team.  Based on my misreading, I lumped the police into the "Garden City side" because I found the timing strange.

It's still odd that the arrest was just now made when the local Great Bend, KS paper said it its original coverage that any arrests would occur within a few days.
