The only thing I wish about that game is if it had all the plays and
formations of Madden 2003. I also like this game because the seasons are a
lot shorter than Madden.

NCAA Football 2003 on the Playstation 2 is one of the best games I have
ever
played on any platform. It is a lot of fun to lead your team through the
season, watching the rankings as the season progresses. You get realistic
stadiums, fight songs, cheerleaders, play by play commentary done by the
ESPN Thursday night game crew (Corso, Herbstreit, and Nessler). And if you
are playing on the road and you are blowing out that opponent, the stands
will start to empty before the game ends. I led UC to an undefeated season
replaying the 2002-03 campaign and fell one spot short of playing in the
BCS
championship game (the Fiesta Bowl). I ended up playing against Florida
State in the Orange Bowl. When the season is over, you are offered the
opportunity to continue in franchise mode where you recruit players.

If you own an XBox or a PS2, I HIGHLY recommend this game. Worth every
penny!

I didn't like soccer much until I Played Fifa Soccer on the Nintendo.
Really!

ME TOO! That's crazy - that game was a pivitol social centerpiece for
awhile. Had some great matches with some "silent" members of the forum.
That was the first time I really "got" soccer and the thrill of the score.
Well, as much as you can for a video game I guess.

Anybody play the newer NCAA games (BB or FB) where you can play a whole
season, recruit, etc.? They look good but I've yet to join the PS2/Xbox
revolution.

I think someone before said if they could see the strategy they might
like
it, well, once I played the video game, particularly when I played WITH
someone playing on my tean(as opposed to the computer playing my guys) it
was a real eye opener... now when I watch it on TV I can see the same give
and go type of plays as on the Nintendo.

Who says you can't learn something playing video games....

Right now I'm learning all about recon... with my new X Box... and
Ghost
Recon!!!! If you've never seen X Box Live in action, it's a blast
particularly the Football, I play against my brother in Denver, and we talk
all game over the Xbox... no long distance charge!

Man,... I sound like a little kid... guess the games keep me young.

Man, the (college basketball) offseason is a pain, I guess I will make
up
my
4x5 (year by position) charts for CUSA and Big Ten in the next week.

I don't like hockey either. This isn't Canada, eh!!! ;) Icing makes
zero
sense to me.

Shawn, think of it as lazy defense, in Basketball if you throw the
ball
out
of bounds fullcourt, the other team gets the ball where you started,
in hockey if you play cheap, lazy defense the refs bring the play back
where
it
belongs, and they jump center at the closest little dot. If only they
had the posession arrow ;-)

And the "encouraged fighting" in hockey makes it seem stupid. Every
time they drop the gloves and the folks who go to NASCAR to see wrecks
jump up,
I
just feel too much like Ghandi in a steel cage match world. I mean the
fighting is stupid, but what is worse is that the suckers eat it up
like candy without any suspicion at all.

Soccer would be a better game without offside and offside traps, and
with hockey-style substitution (any player can leave and be replaced
anytime).
As
it stands, they don't go full out for a ball most of the time to "stay
fresh".

Both Hockey and Soccer would be better if they were lacrosse, I HIGHLY
recommend the college final four which is coming up in the next couple
weeks. The scores end up like 12-10 (so there is scoring) there is a
shot clock, and you can whack the other players with your stick (but
you can
only
hold the stick in one hand when you swing it) How is that for
controlled aggression?

As for Pro Hoops, I agree with your 5 points about why the NBA is
unwatchable, but I have my own addition. There is a Taco Ball
commercial where Shaq is playing against a bunch of kids that says it
all. He picks up the ball at halfcourt, takes 5 or 6 steps, spins,
runs over a couple of kids just standing there and dunks the ball.
Traveling, charging are things of the past. The refs ARE the WWE
element since they obviously have been instructed to change the rules
to make "Marketable celebrities"
of
Shaq and the Lakers.

They changed the rules to make it HARDER for Wilt Chamberlain to
dominate the league, now they change the rules to make Shaq more
marketable. Ruin the game for the sake of money.

less than 6 months until Oct 16th..
