The NBA Sucks because the players do not stay on the same team.
In the past a player was a Piston and was always a Piston. Now
he is a Piston and he might change teams every year or two, so
there are no rivalries built.

I used to love the NBA, but now I can not take the players
moving for the latest brass ring in the next town.

I agree that NCAA basketball is more fun to watch
than NBA ball, but I think you're missing the primary
reason why -- passion and connection. In the NCAA,
you root for your alma mater or have a strong connection
to the University. In the NBA, you root for laundry
(sorry to steal a Seinfeld line).

But in the NBA's defense:

1) Star players get the call because no one wants to
watch Danny Fortson play against Corie Blount

2) No defense here...the NBA traveling "rules" are
ridiculous

3) Try watching Sacramento or Dallas, but also remember
that when you have singular talents as spectacular
as Kobe, McGrady, Iverson, etc., you would be out of
your mind not to maximize their shot opportunities
and time with the ball on offense

4) There's little to no defense in the regular season,
but the playoffs are way different. As for the "lack
of defense" in the NBA, c'mon it's not like Jeff Scott
or Keith Gregor are out on the floor. Everyone on the
floor can score and score at will, and when you talk
about the true cream of the crop, good defense still isn't
enough (it's the reason why K-Mart goes from being able
to shut down anybody, on every play, in college, to
still being considered a very good defender because he
can shut down people 5-10 times a game). Don't tell me
that K-Mart the UC player was a better defender than
K-Mart the Net. Even if he was the same, the difference
is that he no longer guards or plays against stiffs.

5) Thugs are present in every level of sports, sadly there
are no more amateur games left (at least those worth
watching).

Ugggh...now I have to go wash my hands...too much defense
of the NBA

The NBA is unwatchable for several reasons:

1) Star players getting all the calls
2) 4-5 steps before travelling is called
3) Isolation plays instead of team offense (24 second clock is part of the
problem here)
4) Little to no defense
5) Thug players and the whole "business" of professional sports...

The college game is much better...
