I always thought Forston would be a perfect fit for a team with a big
center. Imagine him with the Lakers how much that would change their style.
With him on one side and Shaq on the other, there would be no more rebounds
for the other team and one more player besides Shaq who can't be pushed
around. He and Horry would be a good compliment to each other, but I think
Fortson would deserve more minutes in terms of contributions. He'd easily
get over 10 rebounds per game. Problem would be his contract, I doubt he'd
work into the cap for LA.

My thoughts on Huggins' NBA players

Van Excel:yr-in, yr-out, a top 10 NBA pg, a near all-star. Would've been
better early on , if he had shot less & passed more. Low fg %, but good
a/to ratio. Nice career.

Blount-nice journeyman career. Smart enough to know not to try much on
offense. Helps with defense, rebounding.

Wingfield-best frosh for us by far, looked like a real NBA player here,
but
was he really only 6'6",as was reported when he got to the NBA? If so, not
sure that he could've done well in NBA.

Fortson-I'm surprised he hasn't been better on offense. A great rebounder,
but weak on defense. Not sure he can help a good team.

Patterson-an underrated player. Fine defense, high fg % makes him a
valuable
player.

Long-seems to me that he should be at least as good as Blount, but I guess
not.

Satterfield: jury is still out, but really doesn't even have a jumpshot.
That lack might stop him from being more than a sub, if that.

Dermar Johnson-slow start, but seemed to be coming on. Hope he can come
back
from neck. Seems to me he has potential to have solid career. Some
quickness, some shooting & ball skills. Took a while for Jalen Rose to
bloom.

Mickeal:not actually an NBA player, but has been close. Thought he would
make a roster-good defense, strenth, ability to get up-and-down the floor.
Weak shot probably has held him back.

Martin-looks great. Good enough to help win an NBA title. Kind of a cross
between Karl Malone & Dennis Rodman.

I root for them all. Bill
