I agree that if the NCAA or Georgia do not find any wrong doings when it comes to Johnson then its fine for UC to sign him. What bothers me is not just this recent "scandal" but the entire UC recruiting process of AJ. This kid has bounced back and forth between saying UC was where he wanted to be, to signing with Georgia, and now talking about going to Florida or UK but still visiting UC. I'd love to know what Harrick told this kid at the 11:59 mark in the recruiting process to make him completely snub UC after 2+ years of recruitment and sign with Georgia basically out of the blue.

With all the rumors of scandal surrounding Johnson, I hope UC
stays as far away from him as possible. The last thing UC
needs is any type of scandal surrounding an incoming player.
That's essentially what many (including me) were saying about Whaley last fall. It seems that most of us have gotten over it; perhaps a season of "center by committee" is responsible for that.
Johnson does not necessarily carry any guilt here, and if not, why shouldn't UC (or any other school) recruit him? I understand UC's image problem as well as anyone, but do they go too far if they avoid kids with the slightest hint of potential "baggage?" I think Huggins has proven that he doesn't really care if he thinks he knows the kid and the situation. And, yes, he's been burned some.
As with other things, we're going to have to leave this up to Huggins and trust his judgment.

P.S. -- Besides, I think Johnson is going to end up somewhere in the south anyway.
