The free throw difference is nothing but UC's fault alone. It's hard to
draw fouls when you never attack the basket and your only inside presence is
a turn around fade away jump shot.

UC was a jump shooting team all year and those type of teams can't make it
in today's game. No inside game and no penetration = no free throws. It
doesn't get any simpler than that.

Jon Macomber - can you do me a favor? I do not have the
heart to track this, but I would like to bet you that you
will not find another game iwth a 37-10 free throw advantage
in the whole tournament. Maybe you can, but if you did, I
would think it was in a more skewed matchup (i.e., 16 v. 1)

I am NOT blaming the refs for the game, but I really wonder
why this team had that happen to them. It seemed to me that
they lost every bounce, break and call for the whole game.
They kept shooting themselves in the foot and Bobbit not
running the play at the end summed it all up. Do NOT blame
the coach when he tells the players to run X and one of the
guys gets the ball and jacks it up. How can the coach
control that?

It was a pretty good "down" year, let's hope they come back
with a better work ethic next year and maybe some more
toughness.
