A few interesting quotes

I was curious to look back on some articles on when some of the current
Bearcat players signed with UC to see if they've lived up to
expectations. Here's what I found about some of the players from the
recruiting section of the website:
On Derek Hollman:
(Huggins): "Derek is a big, strong, physical player who likes contact
and will give us a physical presence in the post. We feel he is also
someone we can throw it to inside who can score."
(HoopScoop): "Hollman is more like former Cincinnati All-American Danny
Fortson, except he's not a polished offensively. In other words, at 6'9,
260 lbs., Hollman is a force at the defensive end."
On Taron Barker:
(HoopScoop): We knew the Bearcats were looking for a quick fix to
replace Kenny Satterfield, who recently entered his name into the NBA
draft, at point guard, but we're not sure he's good enough to do
that..."
(Huggins): "I am very comfortable that he will be able to step in and
contribute immediately."
On Eric Hicks:
(Huggins): "He is a great athlete, a Jason Maxiell-type of athlete. He
shoots very well. He's gong to be an impact player in Conference USA."
On Tony Bobbitt:
(Andy Kennedy):" He may be the best jump shooter in JUCO ball, arguably
the best JUCO player in the country. Handles ball well, plays hard, will
have to be more consistent on D."
On Rod Flowers:
(Huggins): "Rod is a big, strong guy with great hands. He is as good a
high school rebounder as I have seen in the last five or six years. He
is a good student and great kid who will be a great addition to our
program."
(Tom Schroeder): "Everybody got to see a skinny kid, that looks alot
like David West of a year ago, put on a display of very poised shots and
presence down low...he was not afraid to shoot or bang it with West or
Posey...he definitely needs about 20 lbs. to fill out his body right
now...he looked more like a wing forward than a power forward...but he
does have soft hands, which always bodes well for put backs and short
range jumpers...not to mention the stepping out for those threes...lots
of excitement ahead for this kid."
