That's right, Jon. Personal matter, internal to the
team. Good a reason as any for Brian not to comment,
although you've got to love the comment he did make
:-)

Of course I have done

What actually happened is not incredibly important

of course the juiciest stories get followed, often

things like facts (ex: Art Long).

Okay, something happened and it's being dealt with.
It appears we're at the

and gossiping about
soap operas and Hollywood romances.

I have a friend who is a member of the dance
team and she is usually
good
for some information before it becomes public.
For instance, when
Dermarr
left early for the draft, she told me about a
week before it became
public
knowledge that he had called her and other
members of the dance team and
thanked them for their hospitality and that he
was going to enter the
draft.
With all this talk about Field being involved in
a nightclub
altercation,
she did mention that he got sucker punched at a
bar in Clifton a few
weeks
back. If my memory serves me correctly it was
right around the time
Bobbit
quit the team. However, she made no mention of
Tony not defending
Field,
in
fact she said other players who were there came
to Field's aid. She did
not
mention specific names as to who was there and
who wasn't though.

Just thought I'd chime in on what I heard
through the grapevine.

If the story you mention below was even
remotely true, I think the
local
newspapers and the local radio stations would
have been all over the
story
and this forum in turn would have again
bemoaned the media for its
constant
UC bashing. Obviously, I cannot say with 100%
certainty that
something
like
this did not happen but I would be very
careful to believe such a
rumor.

I completely disagree. I think Bobbit
prepares better then you think,
and
would be starting if there wasn't a third year
system player in front
of
him. Huggins mentioned right before Bobbit
quit the team, that he was
trying to find more minutes for him, what does
that say? I don't
hear
him
saying that about players like Hollman, and
Flowers.

One other thing, I have kinda been biting my
lips on for the past few
weeks,
maybe Brian can shed some light on for me. I
hate to be the igniter
of
rumors, but I heard that Chuck Mayschock said
that the real reason
that
Tony
Bobbit quit the team earlier this season was
because of an altercation
at
a
nightspot while with Field Williams.
Supposedly someone sucker
punched
Field, and Tony did nothing to step in for his
"friend". After the
team
found out, they gave him a hard time, and
rightfully so, after which
he
quit. I never did buy the playing time
argument, and his "dad" said
that
was only part of the reason. Also the timing
was very peculiar, and
the
punishment was non-existent. Perhaps you
cannot speak on this
publicly
Brian, and that is understandable, but am I
completely up in the night
on
this one?

I cannot understand the logic of starting
Bobbitt over Field. It
appears
to
me that Tony has not figured out what it
takes for him to prepare
for
a
game - either starting or coming off the
bench. We want players who
can
play
a full 40 minutes, but it seems Tony needs
some
