RE: Bobbitt, other UL thoughts

Tony clearly comes to life after he hits those first few points. But the other key for him is getting set. When he has a second to get set and square up he tends to make the shots. His first few shots were either off-balanced or hurried. Once he hit those shots at the end of the half, I still worried about what he might do next. My fear was that like in the end of the SLU game he would proceed to throw it up every time he touched the ball from there on out. I told the guy sitting next to me that Tony just doesn't seem to recognize the difference between a good and a bad shot. I was totally proven wrong in the 2nd half. He did not go crazy. He did not shoot it every time he touched it. In fact, on several occassions he passed up an open look and passed it to the corner for someone else to take the open 3. He also did not get content jacking up 3s. He took the ball off the dribble several times in the second half, knowing that the defenders would overplay him on the 3. What this tells me is that he is learning and can make improvements.

P.S. As for the overrated chants. I dont like it. But up in section 219 we had a big group of UofL fans. When did they all become so obnoxious by the way? I used to like most of their fans. This group was annoying as hell. They booed our players on the intros and yelled ignorant stuff the whole game. It was awesome when they were totally taken out of the game. They got dead quiet.

At one point after Tony missed a few shots, he was fouled and made both free throws...I remember thinking that making these free throws would get him into the rhythm. I've seen Leonard do the same, when he makes a couple of early free throws, he gets into a groove shooting.

Well, I'm really happy about the effort and the win, but I'm still not
sold on Bobbitt. I just can't stand players that take bad shots, and Tony
took 3 or so before he got in the groove. So, I think Tony needs more
discipline, not more playing time. Maybe Huggs should keep track of all
the bad shots that Tony takes, and make him run 10 laps for each bad shot.
Don't worry about whether his shots go in or not, just hold him
accountable for bad shot selection.
