Mike and I noticed the same thing with Hicks being open when Max was
being doubled. I would agree that being a little shorter probably hurts
Jason's court vision.
As for Chadd, I don't ever recall people saying the Satterfield needed
to add 20 pounds of muscle. I think we might use this reasoning a little
too frequently. I really haven't noticed him being pushed around when he
has had the ball either.
A player I am starting to get question is Field. I am starting to wonder
if he wouldn't be more suited to coming off the bench similar to the way
we used Darnell Burton. Bobbitt's defense is not at the same level as
Field's but I wonder if starting Bobbitt would get him a little more
comfortable in the game. Having a guy like Bobbitt who can create off
the dribble would make our offense a lot les predictable in the early
minutes of a game (which is where we have been getting killed).
I think Tony would be less likely to hoist up so many bad shots if we
weren't using him as a 'spark plug' off the bench. I think he shoots the
way he does because he feels pressure to make an impact in limited
minutes. Besides, I would much rather see Williams come off the bench
firing away than Bobbitt.
I don't expect a lot of agreement here but at this point, I think
something needs to change with our offense.

Subject: [UC Basketball] Not yet for Chadd Moore and Max's passing
Chadd looks like a little kid out on the court in conference play. He
needs 20 pounds of muscle before he can compete in this conference.
Those running shots he hit earlier in the season are now blocked or
are air balls. The defense is quicker and stronger and his drives
aren't going to happen like they did in his start (can't even
remember who we played that day).
I think he will be a great PG next year and after. This year, he is
just not strong enough.
Did anyone notice during the SLU game how many times Hicks was open
on the opposite side of the lane when Max got the ball? Max tried
(too late) to pass it to him. SLU had someone dropping to guard him,
but with quick passes, Hicks would have had 3 or 4 easy layups. On
the other hand, someone dropping to guard Hicks should have left
someone on the perimeter wide open (probably someone who would miss
the shot anyway). Max needs to be able to see out of these double
teams, but I guess he might be too short to have good court vision.
His wingspan lets him play like he is 3 or 4 inches taller, but he
doesn't have eyes on the tops of his fingers :)
How would people rate the basketball IQ of this team? I would say it
is pretty low.

Can we all agree that Chadd Moore should be playing more? I knowcourt
he was
sick last night, but in general, I think he should be on the court
25 mins a
game. He is the kinda of difference maker this team needs.
Pushing the
offense and creating gaps in the opponents defense.
along with Hicks the team has a different look when they are on the
