I've been calling all year on here and on the cusa board to play Flowers and
Hicks more because their offensive talent outweighs their defensive
liabilities. Now, after 18 games, it appears everyone is agreeing with me.
Look at how much better we might have been on saturday had we played these
guys more from the first game on and they had some experience.

From watching games, I see why Hicks has not played alot, but after
giving some more thought and looking at the numbers, I am now calling
for him to see at least 20 minutes per game and here is why. Johnson
and Hollman are atrocious offensively. No one would argue that they are
more of a threat than either Flowerss or Hicks, so let's talk defense as
that is where Johnson and Hollman are supposed to excel. Well, show me
the "defense". They were easily backed down by Jackson in the MU game
and seemed unable to guard anyone. Assuming it will continue (no signs
to indicate otherwise) I say play the better offensive threats more
minutes. That is Flowers and Hicks. I am promoting Hicks because he
does things the others do not: Blocks shots and offensive rebounds.
With more PT oppoosite Maxiell, I can foresee him moving to the basket
creating space and a possible low post target when Max is double teamed
(a low post target out of a double team? I have heard of it befgore,
what is it again?). If Huggins is going to begina rotation looking to
the future, hoping the future is this year, I think Hicks and Bobbitt
are the two keys. I discussed Bobbitt in my preview, and after more
thoguhts, felt I would discuss Hicks here. I realize he looks lost at
times, but with Johnson and Hollman, it is a guaranteed 4 on 5
offensively, so I say suffer now, and reap the rewards later.
