Jon is right, per my understanding of the rule.
At first glance, I don't see Bynum coming to Cincinnati. Two reasons -
- - "...the frontrunner continues to be Oklahoma State where former
teammate Tony Allen plays. Allen and Bynum were high school teammates at
Chicago..."
- - "The emergence of freshman point guard Chris Rodgers, whom coach
Lute Olson considers a better defender, cut into Bynum's playing
time..."
So if he has a friend at Okla State and can't play defense well (per
Lute Olson), I see don't him coming to Cincinnati.

I think.... He would not be eligible next year. He played this year.
Also, since our winter quarter has started, he would not be eligible
until after the end of winter quarter the following year even if he
could play nest year.
Notice I started with I think, but I do think I'm close, if not right
completely. Maybe Brian or Randy or Mike knows the exact rule and can
correct me.

On the TV tonight on ESPN, they said Bynum got his release from
Arizona and
will probably transfer to Cincy or another school which I can't
remember right now. Do we have a schollie available next year for him.
I didn't think
we had any left for next year. It's probably wishful thinking on
Bynum's part.
