Agreed, Mike. That's why I prefaced it with the
"barring complete collapse" disclaimer. To add to
your point, I actually won't TRUELY subscribe to them
until February, when the selection committee sets up
shop ;-)

IMO, I don't feel the RPI/Sagarin's/etc mean much
until each C-USA team
has three conference games under their belt. This
year that will Jan
15th for Cincinnati and about Jan 20th for all of
C-USA.
I >do< think they are valuable, but not too early in
the season.

...unless any of these teams completely collapse by
the end of the season. Our SOS (per RPI) is 14th
toughest. Our opponents to date:
Tenn Tech....146
Fla address@hidden
Dayton........44
Valpo........105
Xavier.........6
LaSalle......135
Oregon........27
Clemson.......49
Miami O......106
Chatanooga...108
Futhermore, most of our conference opponents are in
the top 150, with the exception of Charlotte (twice)
and Tulane. Charlotte, currently 167, should
probably
end up in the top 150 as they usually improve under
Lutz. Tulane is at 181, but seems to have righted
their ship somewhat, and is better than they were.
Thankfully, we avoid the drag of Houston.
So we should end up with worst case one team out of
the top 150. Not bad.
