RE: Chadd Moore starting at PG tonight

I agree with your logic as long as UC continues to hold the opponent to
under 60. If Chadd ends up getting continually burned on the defensive end,
his stint as starting PG will be a short one. Hopefully, Eric Hicks has
seen how Chadd has practiced as of late and realizes that this is the only
way to see increased minutes during games.

Would you rather, as a team, have 5 turnovers and score 51 points, or have
10 turnovers and score 71 points. We all know where the 5 turnovers and 51
points got us, a loss against Clemson.

I'm not expecting Chad to instantly cure the offensive woes, but if he can
help open up the offense to get us consistently scoring in the 70's or 80's
then I don't care if he has 4 turnovers a game and plays slightly worse
defense then Taron.

I am surprised to find this has not generated much discussion. I am
very intrigued by tonight's game. Moore getting (perhaps) some
significant playing time will be fun to watch.

2 things I will look for:

1. How well he protects the ball against the Mocs press!

2. How well he pushes the ball up the floor while limiting turnovers.

I have no doubts he is a bit better player offensively, I do not
expect him to be anywhere near as good as Taron defensively this year,
so the 2 other items above are areas he can really compliment Taron.
While Taron is not the best at pushing it up the floor, he can beat a
press and does not turn the ball over much! I hope it is Moore's time
to shine, it could really add
a new dimension to this team offensively.

Finally, I also think it shows how Huggins gets into the player's
psyche a bit. Moore was not ready to play early on so Huggins made
him earn his "playing stripes" in practice while learning the offense
and defensive sets better. I am not sure how ready or not Moore is,
but we know he will not be
down on himself for earlier poor performances (since he had no
performances)
and should be fired up after 3 days of practice with the first unit to
show
his stuff.

Taron Barker has an ailing back so Chadd gets the nod tonight
against
the
Mocs. Details:
