I was at the UD game and while impressed with UD's crowd and the arena, it was not as loud as I expected. Maybe having a lot of students gone for Thanksgiving played a role. It would get loud during a UD run and then would quiet down. All in all it was loud but no louder than any bigger conference game at the Shoe. The music at timeouts does get the crowd going more so than no music and just cheers by the cheerleaders.

I also think that UD Arena is just better suited for getting loud due to
the shape of the building. It seems to trap all the noise down around
the court, where at the Shoe it seems to billow above the court more.
The shape of the building can really make a difference. Williams Arena
(here at the U of Mn) has a barrel-shaped roof that reflects the noise
back towards the court. The loudest I've ever heard the Shoe was the
cheering for I-Mac at last year's game against Charlotte, but it gets
louder than that at almost every game here. We also have a few cheers that
_everyone_ gets into, even the "red sweaters" (which are gold, in our
case).
