I agree that Bobbitt is a bit out of control. He reminds me of Antwan
Jones, and I don't me that in a flattering way. Bobbitt is too quick to
throw up threes. I don't think he has taken a 2-point shot yet in the first
3 games. The one he launched coming down the court with NO passes was
really outside of the offense. Why didn't Huggs yank him at that point?

Field also needs to mix it up a bit and be a threat from inside the line.
Nine of his 10 shots last night were 3's. Both of these guys need to be
more of a threat going to the basket. Logan learned that his Junior year,
and because of it, was obviously a much better scorer.

I guess the foul shots were justified last night. Dayton had 23 compared to
our 7. But they were crashing the glass and attacking the basket, while UC
did not.

Land and Flowers looked good offensively. Kareem Johnson looked OK also. I
don't expect to see much of Holman the rest of the season.

Look for a 12-15 point win over Valpo on Monday.

Mark

Very disappointed in the loss and I know Huggs says no loss is a good loss,
but I think it can be helpful. The Cats are young and inexperienced and they
faced a good experienced team in a tough, loud, hostile environment packed
to capacity. This will help come the shootout in terms of playing in a
packed Shoe in a pressure packed game. It will also help come conference
season on the road. Interior defense killed UC and we were way too slow
rotating out of the double teams. I don't remember seeing a UC team give up
that many open shots. Dayton passed well but it seemed like UC was always 2
seconds late recovering. So while the defense looked like it took a step
back the offense improved with Max finding his shot and Flowers playing well
in the first half. What happened to Leonard in the 2nd half? He got
clobbered a few times in the lane and there were no calls and then they call
a really bad offensive foul late in the game when he tried to go in the lane
and that was it. Bobbitt looked good hitting the two threes but then seemed
to lose his head by launching one from three feet behind the line and then
rebounding a miss and dribbling wildly to the the 3 point line before
heaving another prayer. He needs to keep his head and play smarter. I like
his fire but after he made the two shots he tried to do too much.
Disappointing loss but they showed improvement in some areas. The upcoming
stretch with Valpo, XU, Oregon, and Clemson is going to be tough. They need
to bounce back on Monday and get the W against Valpo.

They finally got some good inside production, too bad the center by
committee
couldn't be consistent for both halves. Good game offensively, although
there still were many mistakes they shot better. The defense really needs
to
improve.
