And to think... when they were only winning 3 games a season (early
'90s) they still averaged over 12,000 fans... not many programs
(including UC) can show that kind of fan participation. But, although
the "flyer faithful" definitely follow UD basketball like no other, they
are also the most annoying fans in the world. When I was in HS
(Beavercreek, '97) I had season tickets to UD. If UD loses a game, no
matter how bad they play, it is always the referee's fault. UD could
have half as many fouls called on them compared to the visiting team yet
be screwed by the refs. The fans follow UD like no other, but they are
not real intelligent fans (IMHO). Also, in case you guys were wondering,
UD is my SECOND favorite team, behind UC of course :)
