Kenyon is not asked to rebound with the Nets, and
many times they don't expect him to be blocking
shots. He is supposed to harass key offensive
players on the other team. Last night he started
out on Horry (a bit surprising), then covered
Kobe after Kenyon had picked up a quick bogus
foul. I thought Kenyon actually made Kobe work
his ass off just to get off a shot... and Kobe
made a couple, missed a couple.
Anyway, my point is that Kenyon could rebound or
block shots if that is what the Nets needed.
Instead they need a "Kobe stopper" :) .... and
a physical presence. Stats don't measure what those
kind of players mean to a team.

I kept waiting for Kenyon to leave his man and come over and try to
block a shot like he did so well at UC. I guess those things just don't
happen in the NBA.
Tom,
I know what you're saying here. I watch the NBA *just because* of the UC
players. But it is a shame to know what Kenyon can actually do and see him
......for whatever reason......not do it.
Your above statement is just one of the IMO. There is no crashing the boards
with relentless abandon and the tough nosed rebounding that we all grew
accustomed to here in Cincinnati. :-(
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy watching any of our Cats in the NBA when
I can.......but as a lover of the game in general, how can one pick watching
or attending an NBA game compared to the college game is beyond me.
But that is just my opinion. The only ones in recent memory at UC that truly
continued *to play their game* in the NBA are Nick and Danny, but even in
those two, Fortson had to sort of change his game even though anyone who
watched him long enough knew that he could have had the same game at UC,
that it was just they really needed his inside scoring presence in college.
OOooops, forgot about Rueben, the NBA is more to his style......I really
enjoy watching him and Nick. :-)
