Re: NBA Finals - I'm pretty happy

1.    I mentioned Kobe because he is on the same team as Shaq.  While I may
not believe Bryant is the best basketball player in the world, I still think
his overall skill level is twice that of Shaq's.  Shaq may be the more
dominant player, because of size and strength, but Kobe is clearly more
skilled.  Pick anybody else you'd like, but the point is that Shaq gets it
done via something other than refined skill level.

2.    As to the length of his shots - again if you can shoot from 5" why
shoot from further out.  If UC had a Shaq, and the refs let him bull his way
around the basket and stand in the lane most of the night to get it done,
why not!  The lane is 12' wide - obviously half that is 6'.  I didn't watch
it all, but I saw a lot, and I can't remember very many shots he took from
outside the lane, much less those that he made, whether he used glass or
just threw it down.

3.    Don't get me wrong - if UC had the opportunity to sign the second
coming of Shaq I'd want Huggins, Goin, the Ohio Governor, and anyone else
you could think of, camped on the kid's door step.  But somehow I'd also
want to make sure that the ref's wouldn't foul him out in the first half all
season.  :-)  [And our opponents wouldn't need a Divac flopping all game to
do it.  :-)]
